Experienced digital technology leader Ben Block, to steward the organization’s next phase of growth.
Miami, 29 March 2021: Motorsport Network today confirmed that Ben Block, an experienced leader with a proven track record of driving growth in digital technology businesses, is taking up the position of Group CEO, effective immediately.
This significant appointment heralds the next stage in the growth and development of Motorsport Network and comes two months after the Network successfully listed its games and esports division Motorsport Games on the NASDAQ.
Ben joins the Network after a highly successful career in digital businesses, with a strong background in technology, data, and leadership.
His career began with News Corp, followed by a stint in London as CTO of online classified business W3 Ltd. After part of the company was sold to eBay Classifieds, he returned to the US and co-founded Bask Labs, a data-driven business in the online food ordering space that was eventually sold to GrubHub. Ben spent the next 5 years as Group CEO of online travel business TravelSmart International Group.
His strong track record of leadership and deep understanding of the technology and data side of digital businesses will be a great asset to the Network in its next stage of growth.
Motorsport Network has enjoyed exceptional growth since it was founded in 2015. An integrated digital platform, it sits at the intersection of the motorsport and automotive industries and is relevant to all the stakeholders and to the global audiences, for whom it is the clear market leader with 56 million monthly unique users. It is in highly attractive markets: motorsport and automotive media, games, and eSports, content licensing, tickets, and experiences. Motorsport Network audiences give the platforms over 200 million minutes of their time each month.
Ben Block, Group CEO Motorsport Network said: “The collection of assets here at Motorsport Network is incredibly impressive. The automotive and car racing markets are large, which is obviously exciting, but even more so when you realize the passion of the audience, the racing fan, the car enthusiast. Motorsport Network has also recruited exceptional talent within the organization.
“Ultimately I see my role here as the driver of synergies between our divisions. In my experience, you need to look at the right data to understand where those synergies lie.
“So many elements of my experiences to date are relevant to this business; my tech background, my experience in media, and obviously, my business ties to the UK, where Motorsport Network has significant operations. I’m thrilled to be on board.”
