INDIANAPOLIS (May 25, 2002) - Motorsport.com writers Earl Ma and David Reininger were among the award winners when the American Auto Writers and Broadcasters Association announced the results of the 2001 AARWBA Writing, Broadcast and Photo contest.
Earl Ma took top honors in the online feature category for his story titled "The Business of Being Buzz," a feature on former Indy Racing League driver, now turned team owner, Buzz Calkins.
Second place in the Online News category went to Motorsport.com's Senior Editor David Reininger for his "Road America Qualifying Report," which appeared on the website last August.
Ma and Reininger each took second place awards in other categories. Ma earned an award in the People Photography (color) category for a photo that appeared on Racing Press.com. "The Reininger Report," which appears weekly on "In the Pits Racing Radio" on WAGE 1200-AM in Leesburg, VA earned Reininger his second radio broadcasting award from the 2001 season.
